About
Jessica Eckhoff, MSN, PMHNP-BC
Most of her nursing career was in the intensive care units at University of Louisville Hospital. She specialized in trauma care there. Jessica became interested in psychiatry around 10 years ago when UL was the only hospital in the region that provided care for the indigent and homeless. She noticed a startling shortage of psychiatric care for homeless and under-served populations and decided to switch gears from critical care to psychiatric nursing.
Jessica was the psychiatry provider to all female state-level felons in the Kentucky Department of Corrections. She was proud and honored to provide care to a marginalized population of both female and LGBTQ, including trans-gender inmates. Sage offers non-judgmental psychiatric care for LGBTQ and kink patients.
She is an advocate for mental health awareness and her training and past experience work together to offer a perspective on mental health in the justice system. WAVE3 Story
